MSU Health Care is the nonprofit academic medical center of Michigan State University.  MSU Health Care provides exemplary care in our communities to support the research and academic missions of MSU Health Sciences. MSU Health Care is a network of organizations (some public and some private) that are operated or managed as part of an integrated health system with a single mission to improve the health of Michigan. Michigan State University is the sole corporate member of MSU Health Care.


MSU Health Sciences, represents over 650 employed clinical faculty and 9,359 community-based faculty across 14 clinical departments and 21 academic departments. Faculty are both researchers and academic professors. MSU Health Care is MSU’s Faculty Practice; spanning 46 adult and pediatric specialties committed to high-quality patient care. Combined, the human health colleges have nearly 20,000 alumni, many of whom practice in the state of Michigan.


  • The only university graduating allopathic (MD) and osteopathic (DO) physicians, doctorate-level nurses, as well as veterinarians.
  • MSU Health Care providers practice in more than 100 locations consisting of primary and specialty services, as well as a pharmacy, laboratory, imaging and physical therapy services. MSU Health Care also treats patients at McLaren Greater Lansing and Sparrow Hospitals as well as more than a dozen large health care systems throughout the state.
  • MSU Health Care offers premiere specialty care to mid-Michigan. MSU Neurology is the largest clinic, with numerous subspecialties offering robust clinical and general neuroscience research opportunities.
  • MSU Health Care’s cancer care offers highly specialized, comprehensive cancer care, providing adult and pediatric patients diagnosis, personalized treatment plans as well as numerous clinical trial opportunities. Cancer care is delivered through a network of MSU Health Care outpatient clinics and inpatient care provided at Karmanos’ Cancer Institute at McLaren Greater Lansing, Sparrow Children’s Center and Henry Ford Health.
  • MSU Health Care participates in McLaren’s ACO.
  • MSU Health Care Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine practice in partnership with College of Osteopathic Medicine physicians, is the largest of its kind in the United States, offering non-opioid pain relief for conditions from head-to-toe; guiding patients of all ages toward optimal function and wellbeing.
