EAST LANSING, Mich. – To provide individuals experiencing orthopedic injuries with faster access to medical care, MSU Health Care Sports Medicine has opened its newest walk-in clinic – MSU Sports Med NOW. The clinic offers same-day care for new non-life-threatening orthopedic injuries or recent musculoskeletal symptoms (onset within 48 hours), particularly those that are impeding daily activities, work or sports engagement. The MSU Sports Med NOW clinic streamlines care with access to highly trained sports medicine and orthopedic specialists.
"Our goal is to provide first-rate care when it's needed most,” said Micah Lissy, MD, MS PT, ATC, CSCS, interim chairperson of the MSU Department of Orthopedics and orthopedic surgeon at MSU Health Care Sports Medicine. “Whether you're a weekend warrior or a professional athlete, MSU Sports Med NOW is here to deliver prompt, effective treatment for sprains, strains and fractures."
Operating from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. Monday through Friday, the MSU Sports Med NOW clinic offers a comprehensive array of services to swiftly diagnose and address injuries, aiding patients in their journey back to an active and healthy lifestyle. Patients can walk in without an appointment, call ahead, or schedule online. Equipped with on-site X-ray facilities, the clinic enables immediate imaging and assessment of injuries. Additionally, expert bracing, splinting, and casting services are provided to support patients throughout the recovery process.
Additionally, we continue to offer our Saturday walk-in injury clinic for acute sports-related injuries. This clinic is held during the spring and fall sports seasons exclusively for athletes. The Saturday walk-in injury clinic is open from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. with onsite x-ray and bracing available.
As part of the broader MSU Health Care services network, which strives to deliver comprehensive care, MSU Health Care Sports Medicine aims to ensure accessible, expeditious, and affordable services to those in the Greater Lansing and surrounding mid-Michigan areas.
