February 13, 2025 - Carynne Lloyd
MSU Health Care recently wrapped up a series of successful Vax Up pop-up vaccination clinics on October 24, October 25, and December 5, aimed at protecting our community against flu and COVID-19. Organized by Quality Management Coordinator Lauren Kerrick and MSU Health Care Pharmacy Director Sandy Campbell, PharmD, with marketing support from Carynne Lloyd, these clinics made it easy for staff, providers, and patients to access important vaccines.
Over the two October clinic days, 12 flu vaccines and 18 COVID-19 vaccines were administered. The final clinic in December saw an additional 17 vaccines given. These events not only provided critical protection against seasonal illnesses but also emphasized MSU Health Care’s ongoing commitment to supporting community health and wellness.
In addition to these clinics, MSU Health Care is excited to share a new educational video designed to encourage patients to get vaccinated. The video, featuring healthcare professionals like Julie Thomas-Beckett, NP-C, Eva Osilla, DO, and Melissa Benbow, MD, FAAP, explains the importance of the COVID-19 vaccine and answers common concerns about its safety and effectiveness.
Getting vaccinated is one of the most effective ways to protect yourself from severe illness, hospitalization, and death due to COVID-19. The 2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccine is updated to protect against the most currently circulating variants, making it especially important to stay up-to-date on your vaccinations.
We encourage everyone to watch the video and take a short survey afterward to share your thoughts on vaccination. The survey will help us understand the reasons behind vaccine hesitancy and allow us to continue improving our educational outreach.
