The 2025 Capital City River Run (CCRR) successfully concluded this past weekend, marking another fantastic year of community, fitness, and philanthropy in Lansing. This year, MSU Health Care Sports Medicine was proud to serve as the title sponsor and official medical provider, ensuring the health and safety of all participants. The event brought together runners and families from across the mid-Michigan area for a weekend of exciting races that showcased the beauty of our capital city while supporting a great local cause.
MSU Health Care’s involvement in the Capital City River Run goes beyond a name on a banner. As the title sponsor and official medical provider, our primary role was to ensure a safe and supportive environment for every athlete. Our team of sports medicine professionals, physical therapists, and medical staff were present throughout the event to provide expert care.
This sponsorship reflects our broader mission to improve the health of Michigan communities. MSU Health Care actively support fitness and wellness sponsorships like the Capital City River Run to encourage active lifestyles for individuals of all ages.
Key contributions from our team included:
Our sports medicine providers are leaders in delivering both non-operative and operative care. This commitment to first-rate medical attention for athletes and active people is a core part of our mission.
Supporting the Impression 5 Science Center
The 2025 Capital City River Run offered a variety of races, making it an inclusive event for all ages and fitness levels. The weekend was filled with energy, determination, and community support.
A significant aspect of the Capital City River Run is its positive community impact. The event serves as a major fundraiser for Lansing’s Impression 5 Science Center. The funds raised help provide children and families with access to hands-on science exploration through engaging exhibits and programming. By participating in the CCRR, every runner and volunteer helped support this vital local institution, which serves over 160,000 guests each year.
This connection between community fitness and educational enrichment makes the CCRR a truly special event for the greater Lansing area.
A Legacy of Care and Support
For over 30 years, MSU Health Care Sports Medicine has been a trusted provider of quality health care in mid-Michigan. Our continued sponsorship of the Capital City River Run is an extension of our long-standing community service, which includes on-site school pre-participation physicals, injury clinics, and medical coverage for various sporting events. As the official medical providers for MSU athletes, we also provide coverage for high school, Olympic, and professional sports teams.
We are proud to have been an integral part of the 2025 Capital City River Run supporting over 1,500 athletes. We look forward to continuing our support for community health and wellness in the years to come.
