MSU Health Care physician Jill Moschelli appointed to Michigan Board of Athletic Trainers

Dr. Jill Moschelli has been appointed to the Michigan Board of Athletic Trainers, recognizing her expertise in sports medicine and her longstanding work supporting student athletes.  

Members of this board guide statewide standards for athletic training, including injury prevention, care and rehabilitation. The Board of Athletic Trainers oversees more than 1,000 athletic trainers across the state. 

Dr. Moschelli, a board-certified primary care physician and program director for the MSU Sports Medicine Fellowship, as well as a team physician for MSU Athletics, began her two-year term this month. One of her goals is to strengthen collaboration between physicians and athletic trainers to improve care for athletes at all levels. 

“I’m honored to serve on the board and support the athletic training profession,” Dr. Moschelli said. “My goal is to help ensure athletes across Michigan have access to high-quality, coordinated care that keeps them healthy and performing at their best.”  

Dr. Moschelli is a faculty member in both the MSU College of Human Medicine and the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine and brings a wealth of experience to the role. She earned her medical degree from St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine as well as a Master of Business Administration from Davenport University. She completed a family medicine residency at Wayne State University, followed by a sports medicine fellowship with the Dartmouth-Main Sports Medicine Program. 

Her clinical interests span the full breadth of sports medicine, with a particular interest in female athlete health, pediatric sports injuries and overuse injuries. 

Her term runs through June 30, 2028.
