Jacquelyn Charbel, DO, FACOS, FACS, has joined MSU Health Care as its newest colorectal surgeon.
Dr. Charbel received her doctorate of osteopathic medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. She completed her residency in general surgery at Henry Ford Health System – Macomb Campus in Clinton, Michigan. She completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Colon and Rectal Surgery from Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. Further, Dr. Chabel is board-certified in general surgery from the American Board of Osteopathic Surgery with more than 8 years of experience treating patients in Michigan.
Dr. Charbel's philosophy is that individualized, patient-centered care begins with discussions involving conservative treatment, when possible, especially for rectal diagnoses such as inflamed hemorrhoids. She offers colonoscopies and cmplex colorectal surgeries at convenient locations in mid-Michigan. Whenever possible, minimally invasive surgery is performed to promote a positive post-operative experience and decrease hospital length-of-stay.
