Numbness, tingling, burning, stabbing and electrical sensations in the hands and feet are very common and can be bothersome. Often, these symptoms occur because the nerves that help with feeling are not healthy (neuropathy). Over time the nerves that help the body move can also be damaged.
Diabetes, chemotherapy, vitamin deficiency and inherited diseases (Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease) can all lead to nerve problems.
To diagnose and assist in the management of peripheral neuropathy for patients 18 years and older, we’ve established a once-per-month clinic with a neuromuscular specialist.
