MSU Health Care Announces New Private-Duty Home Care Service, Provided by TheKey

EAST LANSING, Mich. — MSU Health Care has launched a new service that provides non-medical personal and companionship care for adults and seniors throughout Michigan. The new offering is available privately on an hourly basis in individual residences and senior living communities.
“This collaboration supports our mission to improve the communities we serve by allowing those in Michigan to age in place,” says Seth Ciabotti, MSU Health Care Chief Executive Officer. “By expanding our care into the home, we can more proactively manage chronic conditions, get ahead of acute medical events, and elevate the outcomes and quality of life for the people of Michigan.”
MSU Health Care is collaborating with TheKey, a leading national home care provider, to deliver care to individuals needing home care through the MSU Health Care network. TheKey has been in operation for over 20 years and is the largest company owned provider of private pay home care in the United States. It has industry leading training programs, an established base of caregivers in Michigan, and experience with a wide range of care needs for seniors in their homes. TheKey brings particularly deep experience caring for seniors or other loved ones with dementia, frailty or fall risk, and other common chronic conditions.

Home care needs can vary widely, but care is most often appropriate when seniors or adults with conditions need ongoing support, Neal says. “We create a personalized care plan based on your needs and budget. From around-the-clock care to shifts a few times per week, home care is helpful for clients with dementia, Parkinson's, frailty and fall risk, heart health, stroke, cancer, and those who are transitioning to their homes from a facility. Our care team and caregivers give our clients the freedom and ability to remain at home with dignity and independence, providing peace of mind for loved ones.”
At-home services are initially available in Lansing, Grand Rapids, and the surrounding areas with plans to expand coverage. Services can be paid for privately or with long term care insurance, and clients with Medicaid coverage can also be connected to appropriate resources.
